The purpose is to study how host genomic variation affects clinical outcomes in people with HIV. The DB is set up to collect host genomic data and samples in a cohort of 4500 patients: this large sample size, with carefully ascertained clinical phenotypes and biobanking of material, allows to perform DNA analysis identifying the variants of particular importance. Long term follow-up of patients is carried out to assess the clinical phenotypes after samples for biobanking have been made.
