To assess the uptake and outcomes of treatment against HCV in Eastern Europe, data on prospective patients with HIV/HCV coinfection are being collected in the centers in Russia and Ukraine. The goal is to enroll up to 4000 participants with subsequent data analysis aimed on developing treatment recommendations for optimal DAA use in resource-limited countries. To further inform guidelines on the optimal use of DAA therapy, a large meta-analysis will be performed including around 60,000 DAA treated HCV infected individuals with known treatment outcome. The DB data for the meta-analysis come from national cohorts in Georgia, Sweden and Italy as well as from the pan-European HIV cohort study EuroSIDA.
